Les Funambules Intérieurs is a research project where four performers
live their own lives. They are constantly busy with keeping the balance between
their environment, their actions and interactions, and their feelings. They are
balancing between inner and outside world, trying to get a hold on their lives.
The music is performed by the three dancer and one musician. They have at their
disposal a violin, a saw, an Indian keyboard instrument, and all types of recorders.
During the working period, old french and german songs where used as a source of
inspiration, as well as exert from old filmmusicals.
The project takes place on the attic of the Rijkshemelvaartdienst which is
situated by the Nieuwe Meer in Amsterdam. It is an inspiring space due to
special the special light it receives and the peculiar atmosphere is irradiates.
Andra Perrin experience it as a challenge to find out how a specific environment
influences the working process as well as the final outcome.
Andra Perrin followed an education in France before coming to the Theaterschool
in Amsterdam where she graduated in 1998. Since 1999 she is developping her own
work. In 1999 she made a piece for DWA-Studio
"Le Soliloque du pilote", which is based on sailing weather reports.
Then She collaborated with Jakop Ahlbom on "Park Entrance C",
and in 2000 she made "Anser Caerulescens Caerulescens"
for DWA-Danswerkplaats, which was presented in the Félix Méritis Theatre in
Amsterdam.
Andra Perrin has a own and genuine sens of movement, and has the gift to give a
group of dancers, within a structure, the space to unfold their singularities.
